Pentagon Admits Air Strike Error

The U.S. shouldn't be using unmanned drones to kill Taliban. There are too many civilians killed and that's defeating the purpose of winning hearts and it's riling up the Taliban. It would be like the police blowing up a whole neighborhood to get a crop of bad guys.
It also seems a little cowardly to sit in somewhere in Nevada and operate a drone. How can someone sense the magnitude of a civilian death if they're not in the battlefield? I'd like to see Obama reverse this policy.
The new top U.S. commander in Afghanistan Stanley McChrystal said during a confirmation hearing that he'd try to be precise:
Stressing on the need to reduce civilian casualties, General McChrystal warned that any victory would be ‘hollow and unsustainable’ if allied operations created popular resentment by killing civilians.

On unmanned drone strikes by Special Operations ground units, he said he would make sure that these attacks would be ordered only based on solid intelligence, and would be as ‘precise’ as possible. Thaindian
