Cheney Refers to Osama as Obama at National Press Club Outing

Did I already say Dick is an arse?
Explaining the Bush administration's failure to capture the elusive al-Qaida leader, Cheney on Monday mistakenly referred to bin Laden as "Obama" in a discourse on how he believes the world's most wanted terrorist has been isolated and is no longer in full control of the terror group.

"The important thing is, I don't think he can have much impact now in terms of managing the organization, because that link between Obama and the people under him is pretty fragile," Cheney said. "I don't think he has the capacity to do as much harm as he did at one point, but we ought to still continue to chase him."

The verbal slip came as the former vice-president answered audience questions at the National Press Club after delivering another speech heavily criticizing Obama's national security policy.

"Well, we believe he is still out there someplace," Cheney said when asked why the al-Qaida leader remained at large almost eight years after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Montreal Gazette
